The fee isn't ours, and we don't replace it
When you book Art Park Cabin on Airbnb or VRBO, the platform adds a guest service fee on top of the nightly rate — commonly in the neighborhood of 14% of the booking. That fee pays for the platform, not for firewood, fresh linens, or the trails. When you book here, it simply isn't charged. We don't raise the nightly rate to make up for it.
Our rate is the same either way: $250 a night for two guests, plus $25 a night for each additional guest, up to six. Ohio lodging taxes and a single cleaning fee are added at checkout — the same on every channel.
What that saves on a real stay
| Three nights, four guests | Cost |
|---|---|
| Nightly rate ($300 × 3) | $900 |
| Platform service fee, booking direct | $0 |
| Platform service fee, Airbnb or VRBO (~14%) | $126 |
| You keep | $126 |
Before taxes and the cleaning fee, which apply on every channel. Longer stays and bigger groups save proportionally more — a week for six comes out around $340 ahead.
Three things the platforms can't give you
First access to the weekends that sell out
Parents Weekend, Homecoming, graduation and football Saturdays fill the county months out. We release direct-guest openings to our waitlist first, and hold them 24 hours before they go public.
A host, not a queue
You're messaging the owners. No call center, no ticket number. We know the property down to the last trail marker, and we answer quickly.
Requests that don't fit a form field
Travelling with a bigger family, arriving late, bringing a crib, wanting the wood stove laid before you arrive — those are conversations, and they're easier when there's no platform in between.
Check your dates, see your rate, and book the whole property with no service fee.
Check AvailabilityIs booking direct safe?
Yes. Direct bookings run through Lodgify — a hosted booking and payment platform — with instant confirmation and a written reservation. Card details are handled there, not by us.
And if you’d rather use Airbnb or VRBO
Do it. We’re listed on both, we keep the calendars in sync, and you get the same cabin, the same acres and the same hosts — plus the platform’s own protections and the review history that comes with them. Plenty of first-time guests book that way and we’re glad to have them. All we’re saying is that the fee is real, and if you’d rather not pay it, you don’t have to.
