Ohio University weekends
Interview days, White Coat, commencement — they all mean early starts and long days in Athens. We offer a quiet place to unwind at the end of them. Twenty-four acres, three bedrooms plus a loft, nine minutes from the Convocation Center.
Heritage College calendar
Heritage College dates are set by the college and announced each year on ohio.edu/medicine. Confirm before booking non-refundable travel — commencement in particular has moved by a week between years.
Interview day starts early. The night before goes better somewhere quiet, and that is what this is: no shared walls, no hallway noise, no highway. There is a real table if you want to look over your file one more time, fast WiFi, and coffee ready in the morning.
Come on your own or bring whoever drove you down. The rate starts at two guests.
Both of these bring the whole family to Athens at once. Parents, grandparents, a partner, a sibling arriving late. There are three bedrooms and a loft here, so everyone sleeps in the same place, and a kitchen for the dinner you would otherwise be waiting two hours for.
Heritage College holds its commencement separately from the university's, at 10 a.m. on a Saturday at the Convocation Center, the weekend after undergraduate commencement.
The White Coat Ceremony is held in early August during orientation, also at the Convocation Center. August 7 in 2026.
Heritage College places students all over southeast Ohio, and rotations run long. When you get a weekend, this is a good place to spend it — half an hour from most placements, quiet, and nothing asked of you while you are here.
We are not long-term housing, but a night or two off in the middle of a rotation is one of the better uses of this cabin.

Getting there
Close enough to Grosvenor Hall and campus for an early start. Disconnected enough that the evening is quiet. The exact address and door code are sent once your booking is confirmed.
Questions
The Heritage College holds its own commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on a Saturday in May at the Convocation Center on the Athens campus, separate from and generally the weekend after Ohio University’s undergraduate commencement. The 2026 ceremony was May 9; the 2027 ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 8.
The Convocation and White Coat Ceremony is held annually during orientation in early August at the Convocation Center, welcoming the incoming class. The 2026 ceremony was held August 7.
It is one of the more common reasons people book it. There are no shared walls or hallways, the WiFi is fast throughout, and the Athens campus and Convocation Center are both under ten minutes away — so you can have a quiet night and still make an early start.
Yes, for a weekend. We are not long-term housing, but students on clinical rotations in southeast Ohio book a night or two here when they get time off. Most placements are within about half an hour.
