Two nights, three nights, or the whole week
Most families come in Friday afternoon and leave Sunday. If your student's schedule allows, Thursday-to-Sunday is the better trip — you get an unhurried Friday in Athens before the crowd arrives, and the extra night is the cheapest one you'll buy all weekend.

When is Ohio University Family Weekend 2026?
Family Weekend 2026 is September 25–27 on the Athens campus. Dads Weekend follows on November 6–8, 2026, and Sibs Weekend is February 5–7, 2027. Moms Weekend dates for spring 2027 are announced by the university closer to spring.
How far is Art Park Cabin from Ohio University?
About eight minutes by car to the Athens campus, and seven minutes to Court Street. Peden Stadium and the Convocation Center are both under ten minutes.
How many people can stay for Parents Weekend?
Up to six guests. There are three bedrooms — a king master with private bath and two queen rooms sharing a second bath — plus a loft with additional bedding. Every booking is the entire property and all 24 acres.
How far in advance should we book Parents Weekend?
Six to nine months for Family Weekend and Moms Weekend. Dads Weekend and Sibs Weekend are usually available later, but Athens lodging is limited year-round and peak weekends do not come back once they go.
Is it cheaper to book direct than on Airbnb?
Yes. Airbnb and VRBO add a guest service fee of roughly 14% on top of the nightly rate. Booking on this site skips it entirely — the rate you see is the rate you pay, plus tax and a single cleaning fee.
