The Sunday ceremony changes your booking math
Practically, that means more families staying a third night, and it means the Friday-to-Monday window is now in play. It also means Sunday-night availability disappears earlier than it used to. If you don't yet know which ceremony your graduate is in, book the wider window and shorten it later.

When is Ohio University graduation in 2027?
Spring 2027 commencement runs April 30 through May 2. The graduate ceremony is Friday morning, April 30, and three undergraduate ceremonies are held across Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2 at the Convocation Center. Fall 2026 commencement is Saturday, December 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Why is Ohio University adding a Sunday commencement ceremony?
Enrollment and retention growth pushed the university to add a third undergraduate ceremony beginning in spring 2027, so each ceremony has more space and a smoother flow. The additional ceremony falls on the Sunday of commencement weekend, bringing the weekend total to four ceremonies including Friday’s graduate ceremony.
How far is the cabin from the Convocation Center?
About nine minutes by car. The Convocation Center is at 95 Richland Avenue on the Athens campus.
How far ahead should we book graduation weekend?
Nine to twelve months. Commencement is the most heavily booked weekend of the year in Athens, and it is worth reserving before your graduate’s ceremony assignment is published.
Can all six of us stay for the same price?
The rate is $250 a night for two guests and $25 a night for each additional guest, up to six. There is no per-room charge and no platform service fee when you book direct.
